Why ex-French colonies are becoming a member of the Commonwealth


For Gabon and Togo, Rwanda provides an encouraging precedent: simply 13 years after becoming a member of, it has now hosted the organisation’s summit assembly, attended via heads of state and govt from far and wide the sector, even though there have been some notable absentees, together with South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa.
