Edmonton to join NASL in 2011

It's not official yet, but the Edmonton "Drillers" are coming back! Our sources told us earlier today that the official announcement of Edmonton joining the NASL would happen today and now Duane Rollins on his blog The 24th Minute has confirmed Edmonton have the fourth professional club in Canada. Our sources are also telling us that two "high-level" coaches from Europe are being hired by the new club.

The Edmonton Drillers were part of the original NASL from 1979 - 1982, playing in both the NASL outdoor and indoor league. They won the 1981 NASL Indoor championship.

Note: The logo above is the original Drillers logo, we cannot yet confirm if the new club will be using the same logo or the name Drillers.
