Notre Dame Alum Is Fourth St. Louis Player To Sign With Club

ST. LOUIS, MO (February 12, 2025) - AC St. Louis, playing in the USSF Division 2, and a member of the new North American Soccer League (NASL) announced the signing of defender and St. Louis native Jack Traynor. Traynor becomes the fourth St. Louis area player to officially sign with the club, joining St. Louis born and bred players Steve Ralston, Tim Velten, and Zach Bauer on the AC St. Louis roster.
“Anyone who comes from St. Louis dreams of playing professional soccer at this level here in their hometown,” said Traynor. “All of the local players that have signed so far are very excited to help put St. Louis back on the professional soccer map. Everyone knows St. Louis is a great soccer town, now it is our time to prove it.”

Traynor, 22, played four years of collegiate soccer at the University of Notre Dame where he was a standout defender earning four Notre Dame monograms (letterman honors). Following his senior year with the Fighting Irish Traynor was selected in the second round of the MLS SuperDraft by Red Bull New York. Upon being released from Red Bull New York Traynor signed with Miami FC and appeared in 20 games, making 17 starts, and recording four assists. Traynor logged 1,295 minutes of field time with Miami FC at his preferred left back position.
Traynor played high school soccer at Francis Howell North in St. Charles where he was a two-time All-State and All-Metro honoree. Traynor also played for the Scott Gallagher Soccer Club in St. Louis, and was a member of two national championship winning squads at the U-17 and U-18 levels.
